- Gabe Sulyok Joining S-Bond Technologies
Gabe Sulyok, formerly of Immunicon, joined SBT in August 2008 as part of SBT's expansion of its manufacturing capacity. Mr. Sulyok brings 25 plus years of manuafacturing managment capability and serves as the Manufacturing Operations Manager. He graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and has served in many manufacturing capacities at over 6 companines, serving as manufacturing engineer, quality and lean manufacturing systems manager and Operations Manager. At SBT, Mr. Sulyok will lead the manufacturing and quality operations to grow SBT into a world class, ISO 9001-9002 certified manufacturer of assembled components for the defense, aerospace, electronic, energy and industrial makets.
- SBT receives PA State Investment and Expands Manufacturing Capabilities
S-Bond Technologies was received a $215,000 investment by Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania to expand it manufacturing capacity to assemble components using SBT's patented S-Bond joining materials and processes. Ben Franklin Partners made the investment in SBT based on it plans for growth and its history of successively transitioning its technologies to industrial application and commercial use. Over 6,500 ft2 of manufacturing space is being improved to add to SBT's capabilties to serve a growing application and customer base. Investments are also being made in SBT's sales and marketing infrastructure to better serve the market and attract new customers.
- Application in Formula 1 High Performance Automobiles
S-Bond joining has been adopted by Mercedes Benz High Performance Engines (MBHPE) for use in thermal management components for its Kinetic Energy Receovery System (KERS) in its Formula 1 race cars. S-Bond is joining aluminum fin to aluminum bases that attach to and cool the electric drive's electrical power conversion modules. The heat transfer interfaces provided by S-Bond were 98% void free and yielded excellent thermal cooling performance.
